Indonesia, the world largest archipelago along the equator, has more than 17,000
islands. A country where more than 70 active volcanoes shape astonishing
panorama. It consists of more than
300 ethnic groups with their own respective cultural systems and traditions.
Each gives birth to different arts, folklores, cuisines, languages and
behaviors. Diversity that colors the beautifulness of Indonesia in a tropical
climate. Land, culture and people have its own distinguished traits that offer
unique impression from any angles. These are gifts, the greatest natural and
divine creation. We all have the
obligation to preserve them for future generations to enjoy and study. Indonesia
is the beautiful paradise on the equator.
The political and economic difficulties that sweep Indonesia in the last
few years are just temporarily phenomena. It may happen in any place, at any
time and to any nation. It is simply a set back within a given period of time,
spices in the history of a nation.
However, being an archipelago,
Indonesia may stay the same: beautiful, impressive and wonderful. Its land,
culture and people will continuously provide illustrious and unique characters
for the rest of the world to enjoy. It depends on our determination and
dedication to conserve it.
These beliefs and visions
encourage us, individuals who founded the Beautiful Indonesia Foundation. We
intend to preserve the beautifulness of Indonesia and preserve the enchanting
images of the land, culture and people of Indonesia, regardless its political
and economical atmosphere.
